Colorado Scholarships 

Henry Braly Lineman Scholarship (St. Vrain Valley Education Foundation) 

Scholarship Amount: 

  • One-Time scholarship: $10,000 to be paid over two years. $5,000 for first year or first half of trade school program and $5,000 for second year or second half of trade school program

Eligibility 

  • Must be a Lineman football player 

Purpose

  • The Braly Family Foundation was established in 2006 in honor or Guy and Laura Braly.  This scholarship is in honor of the foundations founder Henry Braly.  Henry was a lineman at Longmont High in the 1950’s and continued to play in college.​

HB 49 Football Scholarship: (Longmont Community Foundation) 

Scholarship Amount:

  • One-Time Scholarship: $4,900 awarded in Henry Braly’s memory.

Eligibility:

  • Athletics:

    • Must be a football player.

  • Academic Requirement:

    • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

    • Must be a graduating senior from Longmont High School.

Purpose:

  • In Memory of Henry Braly: This scholarship was created to honor the life of Henry Braly, the founder of The Braly Family Foundation. Henry was a lineman at Longmont High School in the 1950s and continued to play football in college. His children, Shari and Kevin Braly, also graduated from Longmont High School. The scholarship amount reflects his football number, 49.

​Braly SOCO Any Athlete Scholarship: (Longmont Community Foundation) 

Scholarship Amount:

  • One-Time Scholarship: $5,000 awarded in Henry Braly’s memory.

Eligibility:

  • Educational Institution:

    • Must be a senior student at Branson School or Las Animas School in Colorado.

  • Athletics:

    • Applicants should be involved in athletics.

  • Academic Requirement:

    • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 to apply.

Purpose:

  • In Memory of Henry Braly: This scholarship was created to honor the life of The Braly Family Foundation’s founder, Henry Braly. Henry was a lineman at Longmont High School in the 1950s and continued to play football in college.

GP (Grandpa) Memorial Lyons Athlete Scholarship (Longmont Community Foundation) 

Scholarship Amount:

  • One-Time Scholarship: $5,000 awarded in Henry Braly’s memory.

Eligibility:

  • School Enrollment:

    • Must be a graduating senior from Lyons Middle/High School.

  • Athletics:

    • Must be an athlete.

  • Academic Requirement:

    • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Purpose:

  • In Memory of Henry Braly: This scholarship was created to honor Henry Braly, the founder of the Braly Family Foundation, who was cherished as a grandfather, known affectionately as ‘GP.’ The scholarship is a tribute from his grandchildren (PDK), who graduated from Lyons Middle/High School and shared many beloved memories with him.

 

Ascend St. Vrain Scholarship (Longmont Community Foundation) 

Scholarship Amount

  • Multiple Renewable Scholarships: The scholarship offers multiple awards that are renewable.

  • Braly Family Foundation Scholarship: The Braly Family Foundation will fund one, $2500 renewable scholarship with a preference to trade applicants.

Eligibility

  • High School Students: Must be currently attending a high school within the St. Vrain Valley School District (SVVSD) or a BOCES program.

  • Current College/Trade School Students: Must have graduated from a high school in the St. Vrain Valley School District (SVVSD) or a BOCES program.

  • Education Plans: Must be planning to attend, or already attending, a college or trade school in Colorado.

  • Financial Need: Must show unmet financial need, as determined by the financial aid office at the college or trade school they plan to attend or are currently attending.

Additional Information

Ascend St. Vrain helps alleviate the debt that many students incur to attend post-secondary schools.

 

The Braly Geneva UNC Teaching Scholarship Fund 

Scholarship Amount:

  • One-Time Scholarship: $5,000 awarded to a current student pursuing a teaching degree at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC).

Eligibility:

  • Degree Program:

    • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in teaching at UNC.

  • Enrollment Status:

    • Must be enrolled as a full-time student, with a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester for undergraduate students at UNC.

  • Academic Requirement:

    • Must have completed at least 30 college credit hours at the time of application.

    • Must have a cumulative college GPA of at least 3.0.

Application Process:

  • Finalist Requirement:

    • If needed, finalists may be required to submit a short 2-3 minute video for the final selection process.

Purpose:

  • In Memory of Geneva Smithlin: This scholarship was created to honor Geneva Smithlin, sister of Henry Braly, the founder of The Braly Family Foundation. Geneva graduated from the University of Northern Colorado (formerly Colorado State College) with a teaching degree in 1963.
